PlayStation Plus continues to enrich its catalog, but this time, it is not a simple addition of a game. Extra and Premium subscribers will benefit from a significant bonus in spring 2026. Rogue Prince of Persia, already available in the service, will receive two major updates completely free in April and May.
The announcement, relayed via an official roadmap from Evil Empire developers, confirms the arrival of free downloadable content for all affected members. No additional payment will be required to access these new features.
Rogue Prince of Persia, two major free updates
The first update, called Breathless, will arrive in April 2026. It aims to make “the overall experience faster and more intense”. The developers announce a “complete overhaul of the first hour’s pacing, including when and how you’ll unlock new game content and mechanics, as well as boss difficulty.” In other words, the first hours of play will be profoundly reworked in order to accelerate progression and reinforce tension from the start.
A reworked level design and an enriched endgame
The changes don’t stop there. According to the Evil Empire team, the update will include “level design overhauls for the first biomes that will also highlight our iconic wall running move and make each biome faster and more difficult.”
In May 2026, a second major update entitled Endgame will complete the package. It will transform the endgame experience by “adding more challenges like Speed Run and Daily Awakening.” Both updates will be available as a free download for all PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers.
An excellent game already praised by critics
Released in May 2024, Rogue Prince of Persia quickly established itself as a notable title in the catalog. Developed by Evil Empire, the game offers a 2D action experience mixing roguelite and platforming. With a critical average of 80/100 on OpenCritic and 78% critical recommendations, the title seduced with its rhythm and dynamic gameplay. For subscribers who have yet to try the game, the schedule works in their favor. Updates will arrive in April and May 2026, leaving several weeks to experience the basics before major changes.

Access to free updates is reserved for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Rogue Prince of Persia is already available in these plans, meaning no additional purchases are required. Players can download the game now and enjoy free updates when they roll out in Spring 2026.
