Xbox offers 4 games to try for free including Battlefield 6, but you have to act quickly

An explosive FPS, a crazy action-strategy game, a chaotic party game and a cooperative tactical RPG. Xbox hits hard for its new Free Play Days event by offering four free games available from now until February 23, 2026. The information, initially revealed on the r/xbox subreddit, concerns recent and varied titles, including the highly anticipated Battlefield 6.

The offer is temporary. For a few days only, players can download these games free of charge and test them freely. For those who are hesitant to get started, the window is short, and the selection covers several styles to reach a wide audience.

Battlefield 6 headlines Xbox Free Play Days

Released in October 2025, Battlefield 6 constitutes the eighteenth main opus of the franchise. It offers an ambitious single-player campaign and a highly anticipated multiplayer mode, always supported by regular updates.

This is undoubtedly the centerpiece of this operation. FPS fans can experience its spectacular battlefields and fast-paced gameplay without spending a cent. In our review, it was described as “beautiful, offers excellent playability and has a bright future ahead of it.”

For players who have not yet taken the plunge, this free trial period represents an ideal opportunity to judge for themselves the technical performance and intensity of online confrontations.

Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids, strategy and assumed chaos

Change of atmosphere with Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids. This game mixes action and strategy, playable solo or in cooperation. The objective is simple in appearance: collect Brainium, build a base and raise an army of robots to counter aliens that look like brains in a jar.

The player embodies Chip or Clawz in an energetic adventure that focuses on coordination and tactical management. The pace alternates between construction, defense and organized attacks, offering a more sedate experience than Battlefield 6, but just as demanding. For fans of local or online co-op, it’s an interesting playground, especially during a limited free period.

Polterguys: Possession Party and Sunderfolk, two opposing experiences

Third title available until February 23: Polterguys: Possession Party. This party game, playable for up to eight participants, is based on sabotage and tracking. Players must trap their opponents before getting caught by poltergeists. Special feature of the concept: it is possible to embody a ghost capable of possessing everyday objects to disturb the other participants. The atmosphere is intended to be lighter than that of a traditional horror game, while maintaining constant tension.

Finally, Sunderfolk completes the selection with a radically different proposition. This cooperative tactical RPG bills itself as a game “where intelligent teamwork and shared strategy shape each turn and create lasting memories.” Players use their phone as a guide, controller and character sheet in an adventure designed for shared play, locally or online.

A single copy of the game is enough to start a game, which facilitates access to the collective experience. Xbox also specifies that “These four games are available for free now thanks to Xbox Free Play Days”, a formula which recalls the strictly temporary nature of the operation.

Xbox Free Play Days and Xbox Game Pass, how to take advantage of them?

Free Play Days are aimed at Xbox players, in particular via the Xbox Series X|S ecosystem and Xbox Game Pass. The service has around 35 million subscribers and allows, depending on the formula chosen, to play simultaneously on several compatible devices, including PC, Android, iOS and certain connected televisions.

Subscriptions start at $9.99 per month for the Essential plan, while the Ultimate plan reaches $29.99. Streaming gaming sessions can go up to 1440p depending on the subscription.

For those who are hesitant about their next game, this temporary selection covers a wide range: realistic military shooter, cooperative strategy, supernatural party game and narrative tactical RPG. It remains to be seen which one will launch your console before February 23.
