PS5: this hidden setting changes everything, your games can automatically start with your preferred settings

Launching a new game should be an immediate pleasure. However, many players systematically go through the “Options” box before even starting. Difficulty to adjust, reverse camera to activate, performance mode to select… These repeated adjustments can quickly become tedious.

However, the PlayStation 5 offers an integrated solution, often ignored, which allows you to automatically apply your preferences to the majority of compatible games. A discreet setting, but particularly practical for saving time.

Set a default difficulty on PS5

Not all players approach a game the same way. Some are looking for a challenging challenge, especially on demanding titles like Dark Souls. Others prefer a more accessible, even narrative experience. The difficulty remains a personal choice which varies from one player to another, and even from one genre to another.

The PS5 allows you to set a default difficulty level. Once this preset is enabled, compatible games will automatically start with the chosen mode, without requiring manual changes. This parameter is particularly useful when you play several titles together or when you regularly start new games.

Performance, resolution and camera: advanced presets

The default settings are not limited to difficulty. The console also allows you to select a priority graphics mode, whether it is performance or resolution. Players of FPS or third-person games can also set the camera’s behavior. Vertical or horizontal inversion, standard or inverted setting: everything can be configured in advance. Additional options concern subtitles, audio or even certain parameters related to online multiplayer. The objective is simple: to avoid having to reconfigure these elements at each new launch.

How to enable these hidden settings on PlayStation 5

Enabling these presets is simple. Simply go to the console Settings menu, then to the “Saved data and game/application settings” section. Next, select “Game Overview”.

In this menu, you can change the default difficulty, choose priority graphics mode, configure the camera, adjust subtitles, and customize other general preferences. Once these settings are defined, they will be applied automatically when launching compatible games. This avoids having to intervene manually at each new session.
