Whether you’re a fan of pixel platformers, psychological horror, or interactive adventures, these titles are worth checking out. One of them even comes close to excellence with 90% positive reviews. All are available for immediate download. Here is our detailed overview so you don’t miss anything.
Melon Man: the old-school platform game that’s a hit
If we had to choose just one, it would be him. Melon Mandeveloped by Blomma Games, is a little gem in pixel artstrongly inspired by retro platform games like Mario 2D. The objective: reach the end of each level by avoiding well-placed traps and collecting… melons. “Melon Man has already achieved a very respectable 90% player score”
The community praises its edginess, its colorful aesthetic and its well-thought-out difficulty curve. For now, only a few levels are available, but expansions are already planned. It’s short, free and very neat. “A platform, horror, hidden object and narrative adventure game awaits you”
Channel 4 Midnight: an intense nightmare in 20 minutes
Radical change of atmosphere with Channel 4 MidnightA psychological horror game signed foolkiien. Playable in around twenty minutes, it immerses you in a disturbing and symbolic universe where each image seems loaded with meaning.
The story follows a lost soul attempting transformation via a mysterious ritual. The soundscape is minimalist, the universe oppressive, and the message strong. The game is told in first person, with some simple puzzles to solve. “A deeply disturbing experience from start to finish. I didn’t know what to expect, but I came away profoundly transformed.”
Escape Games World vs Escapers: for hidden object fans (and patients)
Developed by HFG Entertainments, this game offers 95 mini escape games to follow in a visual style typical of mobile games. Be careful, however: some players talk about content generated automatically and without much consistency. Steam also displays a quality warning. This remains a free curiosity for puzzle enthusiasts or players looking for short challenges to follow, with no other expectation than to solve, click, start again.
RK Override: the sci-fi visual novel that focuses on emotion
Last surprise: RK OverrideA dubbed narrative story approximately one hour, developed by Kinetic Magic. The story features Chimera, a mecha pilot engaged in an endless war, forced to coexist with an on-board AI that questions his decisions.
This human/machine face-to-face gives rise to difficult choices and strong moments, despite the production still being a little raw. “It’s true that it’s a bit rough, but we feel that it has something to say, and I totally agree” A successful soundtrack and a real reflection on control and war make this game an independent project to watch.
