Gameplay in Japan
Officialized last year during the Tokyo Game Show, this new opus of Forza Horizon is already one of fans’ biggest expectations for this year. It must be said that its Japanese context helps a lot, and these first images confirm it: we were able to see the first gameplay sequences in environments that smell like cherry trees and we are already looking forward to driving on the asphalt at the foot of Mount Fuji. Without too much surprise, it is the Toyota GR GT 2025 which will act as the star on the cover and during the communication, accompanied by the Land Cruiser 2025.
Obviously, this first video was mainly there to show us the broad outlines of this new adventure which will do everything to respect its host country. We spoke at length about the care taken in the decor, the atmosphere, the houses and the architecture. Tokyo for example, can be explored well and will offer several areas with known corners, such as Shibuya Crossing or Ginko Avenue, and will be five times larger than other cities previously imagined by Playground Games. The map promises to be particularly vast and will be the largest ever made for the seriesdivided into several districts, each with its own style.
The first new features revealed
If certain traditions will not be lost in this sixth opus (the seasonal changes have been confirmed), there will still be some subtleties. The concept of a local festival does not change, but we will not embody a “ legend » of piloting, rather a tourist who arrives in the country to give a feeling of new beginning. We find collectible cars (550 at launch), houses (eight in total) and customizable garages. Collectibles, such as rarer vehicles to find, will be present and you will have the opportunity to build and decorate a large estate.
Among the improvements, we are told about a new modeling of tire wear, improved audio effects, a plethora of customization (with unique body kits for all cars, with the possibility of putting liveries on the windows) or even more accessibility options (we are thinking of a real color contrast option).
Note the presence of a journal which will slightly renovate the progression system. Inspired by the Japanese philatelic tradition, this new feature will allow you to collect souvenirs but also photos of points of interest. A system presented as “a visual representation of your trip” to collect your experiences in Japan.
Obviously, the multiplayer and creative dimensions do not disappear. In collaborative mode, it will be possible to do personalized construction with several people. Social spaces will be scattered everywhere to bring together drivers, in a nod to real groups of enthusiasts.
