Version 1.0 becomes clearer after two years of early access
Before reaching version 1.0, Enshrouded will benefit from a final major update in early access, planned for the second quarter of 2026. This will be the eighth content update since the game launched on Steam. It will bring numerous improvements, in particular to:
- general balancing
- the fights
- finishing and performance optimization
It will also introduce the first version of “Adventure Sharing”, a feature highly requested by the community that will allow you to more easily explore your friends’ bases. Keen Games recalls that the early access launch, in January 2024, was a major success in attracting over five million players to date. This massive support allowed the studio to refine and expand its initial vision for the game, making the second half of 2026 the ideal time to reach the milestone of version 1.0.
The developers also clarify that this release will not mark the end of development, but the start of a new chapter, with continued improvements and additional content after launch. Even before this big update, a fix will be deployed tomorrow, including :
- Additional combat system adjustments
- A new set of cosmetic armor
- More consistent management of explosive barrels
- Numerous bug fixes aimed at improving stability and performance
Enshrouded is one of our biggest expectations for 2026 thanks to early access which already offers a quality game, especially if big survival games intimidate you. We know that many are also waiting for the official release in 1.0 to get started, especially on consoles. So you don’t have much longer to wait.
