The gifts keep coming on the Epic Games Store. This week, two acclaimed infiltration games are available for free, just before the arrival of a crazy open world inspired by GTA… medieval version. Like every Thursday, the Epic Games Store renews its selection of free games, and this week is no exception. Until January 22 at 5 p.m.players can enrich their library with two atypical infiltration titles: Styx: Master of Shadows and its direct sequel Styx: Shards of Darkness. Two independent games which, without being blockbusters, have conquered a loyal community thanks to their demanding gameplay and their irreverent tone.
From the following Thursday, a completely different genre will arrive: Rustleran assumed medieval parody of the first GTA, which promises as much chaos as laughter.
Styx, the goblin who won over infiltration fans
Styx is the anti-hero par excellence: a grumpy goblin, thief and assassin, ready to do anything to get his hands on magical artifacts. In Master of Shadowshe infiltrates the Tower of Akenash to seize the Golden Sap, a substance with extraordinary properties. In Shards of Darknesshe goes hunting for Black Quartz in a larger universe, where infiltration rhymes with strategy.
The saga is based on a well-established formula: discreet progression, supernatural powers (invisibility, clones), vertical environment and careful level design. All bathed in black humor that breaks the codes of the genre.
While waiting for Styx: Blades of Greed, the ideal reminder
The upcoming release of Styx: Blades of Greed scheduled for February 19, 2026 gives extra value to this free offer. The first two episodes, now accessible to all PC players via Epic, allow you to immerse yourself back into the world of Styx or discover it at a lower cost. These games, which mix fantasy, infiltration and sarcasm, do not seek to compete with AAA but seduce with their coherence, their strong identity and their finely calibrated game system.
Rustler: when GTA arrives in the Middle Ages
After these two infiltration experiences, the Epic Games Store continues with a radically different proposition: Rustler: Grand Theft Horse. From the January 22 at 5 p.m.users will be able to download this open-world sandbox for free where chaos takes the form of horse thefts, medieval chases and absurd missions.
Parody tribute to GTA in 2D, Rustler takes the mechanics of the first opuses of the Rockstar series, but transposes them into an anachronistic framework. The anti-hero climbs the ranks of crime with humor, offbeat cultural references and a deliberately absurd tone. A crazy experience not to be missed.
