4 games are free on Steam, including two gems loved by players

In a context where the video game budget is becoming a luxury for many households, every good deal makes the difference. And this week, Steam is hitting hard. Since October 28, 2025, the Valve platform offers four completely free gamesdownload now. Better yet: two of these titles have already won the hearts of gamers with very positive reviews on the platform.

While subscription services like Game Pass or PlayStation Plus can help save money, these four freebies from Steam have another advantage: they do not require any subscription or conditions. Just one click, and it’s yours.

Four independent games, including two real favorites

Here are the four titles currently offered:

  • Artist Slayer / Rush : a nervous shooter in which you play as SLASH, an agent of the Slayer Forces. The story begins when a virtual reality headset transfers the player’s soul into the body of the protagonist, who is responsible for eliminating monsters one after the other.
  • Vacubot : a strategic action game in which a virus takes control of a giant production robot. Objective: infiltrate the area, destroy corrupted units and stop destructive production at the source.
  • Gromopoli : an online board game halfway between Monopoly and strategy game, playable for up to seven. It’s up to you to buy, manage and trap your opponents on dynamic maps.
  • Legacy’s Allure : a turn-based strategy game, inspired by chess, where dice have no place. It all depends on your sense of planning and your ability to read opposing intentions.

Two of them clearly stand out according to initial feedback from the Steam community: Gromopoli And Legacy’s Allure.

“A fantastic game, great fun and everything you expected. Impressive that it was made by just one person; everything is really smooth and works perfectly. I can’t wait to discover new maps and skins,” writes KaiserBlake about Gromopoli.

“Even as a newbie to strategy games, Legacy immediately appealed to me. The gameplay doesn’t rely on luck; it’s all about strategy and judicious use of units against the adversary”, confides Christina. “It constantly forces me to anticipate and carefully plan my actions, which makes the game exciting and intellectually stimulating. The more I play it, the more fun I have, especially since each playthrough can have a different outcome.”

Why does Steam do this kind of operation?

This type of free offer allows Steam to highlight independent studios, often with high potential but little known to the general public. By making them temporarily free, the platform hopes to generate word of mouth and stimulate future sales via additional content, skins or DLC.

On the players’ side, this is an opportunity not to be missed to expand your library without spending a cent. These games, even temporarily free, remain acquired for life once added to your account.
