The weekend promises to be busy for Xbox players. Microsoft is renewing its Free Play Days operation and making four titles available to play for free for several days.
From March 5 to March 9, 2026, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can test two games at no additional cost. Two other productions are accessible to all Xbox players, with no subscription required. An ideal opportunity to discover new worlds without commitment.
Two games reserved for Xbox Game Pass subscribers
Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate members can enjoy two titles until Monday, March 9 at 8:59 AM PT. The first is Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, a dynamic racing game that multiplies environments. The circuits alternate between earth, water, air and parallel dimensions. The game offers single and multiplayer modes, online or offline, with strong vehicle customization. The second is Black Desert, an open-world MMORPG known for its fast-paced combat and wide range of activities. Commerce, fishing, crafts, dressage and even exploration are on the program. The title also allows you to participate in massive siege wars.
Two other free titles without subscription
Microsoft is also opening access to two other games for all Xbox players. FBC: Firebreak can be tried for free until March 9 at 8:59 a.m. This cooperative first-person shooter immerses players in the heart of a government agency facing supernatural phenomena. The experience is based on cooperation and exploration of an unstable environment.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is also playable for free from March 5 at 6:00 p.m. to March 9 at 6:00 p.m. PST. The game features a cooperative campaign, a multiplayer mode including 16 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps, as well as a Zombies mode set in the Dark Aether.
Progress retained in the event of purchase
As in previous editions of Free Play Days, any progress made during the free period is retained if the player decides to purchase the game afterwards. Temporary promotions are also offered on the Microsoft Store, allowing you to extend the experience at a reduced price.
Free Play Days, a strategic lever for Microsoft
Free Play Days have become a regular event in the Xbox ecosystem. This operation allows players to test recent or popular titles before a possible purchase. For Microsoft, the objective is twofold: to promote Xbox Game Pass while boosting digital sales through targeted discounts.
This weekend, the selection mixes arcade competition with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, persistent adventure with Black Desert, cooperative action with FBC: Firebreak and intense military experience with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Players have until March 9 to enjoy it.
