Many shonen series – i.e. anime for a younger male audience – have been among the absolute favorites of many fans for years. Their opening episodes in particular often enjoy cult status. But which introductory sequences are best received?

Live voting will be held on the English-language website Ranker.com, allowing fans to vote for the best first episodes of popular shonen anime. The interim results from November 13, 2025 at 10:00 p.m. are available below.
Among others, “Attack on Titan”, “Death Note”, “The Promised Neverland”, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood”, “Hunter x Hunter” and “Assassination Classroom” made it into this top 25 list.
