The PS5 is still only halfway through its life cycle for Sony

The PS5 begins the second half of its life

The PS5 is not yet preparing for retirement, far from it. Sony wanted to affirm this during its last quarterly report, in which Lin Tao, financial director of the manufacturer, indicated that the current console cycle will last a little while (comments relayed by journalist Destin Legarie):

There are many active users who enjoy the console, so from that perspective, we think the PS5 is only halfway through its journey, and we definitely plan to expand it even further. »

Does this mean that a PS6 won’t be released within 2 or 3 years? Far from it, but like the PS4-PS5 transition, the one between this generation and the next could also be a little longer than what we are used to seeing. Understand by this that the PS5 still has a bright future ahead of it, with games that should continue to be released on this platform for quite a few more years.
