The biggest multiplayer blockbuster becomes free on PS5 and Xbox, enjoy it

While waiting for GTA VI, Rockstar is releasing a surprise. From now until November 17, 2025PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can access for free in GTA Online, without the need for a PS Plus or Game Pass Essential subscription.

The announcement was made via the official Rockstar Games account on Twitter/X: “Play GTA Online for free on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, now through November 17. No PS Plus or Game Pass Essential subscription required.”

GTA multiplayer temporarily becomes free for everyone

Released more than ten years ago, GTA Online remains one of the most played titles of 2025 thanks to its vast open world and its almost infinite possibilities. There you can evolve from a simple street thief to a crime lord at the head of your empire, with heists, missions, mini-games and a freedom of action that is still just as addictive.

Usually, playing online on consoles requires a paid subscription. Rockstar is therefore making a rare gesture by removing this barrier for a few days, possibly in connection with the postponement of GTA VI, which continues to be awaited.

A taste of GTA+, Rockstar’s premium service

This free offer comes at a time when Rockstar is also pushing its own subscription, GTA+designed for regular fans. It gives access to:

  • Monthly funds for your character
  • Exclusive bonuses in the Vinewood Club
  • Benefits for CEOs and VIPs
  • A rotating catalog classic Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire Or Bully

But for the curious or the nostalgic, the essential is elsewhere: this week, no need to pay to rob the Pacific Standard Bank with friends.

The offer is available immediately, and ends November 17. If you’ve never tried GTA Online or are hesitant about restarting a game, now is probably the best time to dive back into Los Santos.
