Synergy between projects, at least for the release period
The movie BioShock has still not started production, given that its director Francis Lawrence is too busy on post-production of the next feature film in the saga Hunger Games. We will therefore have to wait a few more months before things move on this side, as one of the producers, Rory Lee, at Collider states.
Lee also states that Take-Two is reportedly looking to have this Netflix-produced film arrive in the same release window as a game in the series :
“ We could have finished it a few years ago, but other films have taken us by surprise, including The Long Walk and the Hunger Games prequel, which comes out in December. We’re just waiting for him [Francis Lawrence] finish post-production [du film Hunger Games]because he will work there at least until September, before getting back to it. I know Netflix and Take-Two are eager for the movie to come out, as they want its release to coincide with possible iterations of the game. »
Words which remain quite unclear even if we imagine that it is the game developed by Cloud Chamber, of which we know nothing at the moment. Furthermore, Roy Lee himself is probably not entirely aware of what is happening within the studio, but his comment remains interesting if Take-Two’s strategy is verified. It has paid off on many occasions, as with the example of The Last of Usbut Fallout also showed that this was not necessarily necessary if the back-catalogue was sufficient (the public then flocked to the games already released). Let’s hope at least that Lawrence starts his work at the end of the year, so that this project finally moves forward.
