Resident Evil Requiem will run in 4K, 60 FPS, ray tracing and up to 120 FPS on PS5 Pro according to Capcom

Capcom revealed technical details for Resident Evil Requiem on PlayStation 5 Pro this week. The game, expected for February 27, 2026will turn into 4K at 60 frames per secondwith possible activation of ray tracing. According to director Akishi Nakanishi, interviewed on the Japanese PlayStation blog, the game could even reach up to 120 FPS on a compatible monitor.

“With ray tracing enabled, players will be able to enjoy Resident Evil Requiem in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.” Nakanishi adds that on some screens, the average framerate may increase to 90 FPSpromising unprecedented fluidity for a game of this scale.

A chilling investigation in the heart of Raccoon City

The story of Requiem takes place near 30 years after the events of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The player embodies Grace Ashcroftan FBI analyst, sent to the Wrenwood Hotel in Raccoon City to investigate suspicious deaths. A place that marked his past: his mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, was murdered there eight years earlier.

This new protagonist promises a renewal in the narrative, although the universe remains faithful to the codes of the series. And for early fans, an iconic name should make a return: “The return of Leon Kennedy also seems imminent.”

A game designed for all next-gen platforms

Resident Evil Requiem will be released simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom is therefore banking on broad accessibility while adapting the experience to the capabilities of each console. If the PS5 Pro will offer the most optimized version, the other platforms will not be left out.

By adapting its graphics and frame rate to each system, Capcom seeks to satisfy both players on high-end consoles and those on more modest hardware.

Leon, Grace and an atmosphere worthy of the best episodes

This new opus will mix claustrophobic atmosphere, personal intrigues and biological threatsin line with the best episodes of the franchise. The possible return of Leon Kennedy gives hope for a strong narrative junction with the previous episodes.

With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom seems to be aiming for a balance between homage to the roots of the series and modern technical ambitions. The fluid gameplay, the dark narrative and the return of familiar characters could well make it one of the most memorable titles of the start of the year.
