PS5: this free game seduces players and explodes download counters, don’t miss it

Sony is starting 2026 off strong with a PS5 console exclusive that will not go unnoticed. Arknights: Endfielda spin-off of the famous mobile game Arknightsis making a splash on the PlayStation Store with an impressive user rating and optimized compatibility for the PS5 Pro. Free, massive, and built to last, the game has already established itself as one of the best free-to-play titles of the moment for fans of action and strategy RPGs.

A well-thought-out PS5 console exclusive for the PS5 Pro

Developed by Mountain Contour and edited by Gryphline, Arknights: Endfield is accessible both on PC and on mobile, but remains for the moment exclusive to PlayStation consoles. And unlike other recent titles, this one take full advantage of the capabilities of the PS5 Pro upon its launch.

On the PlayStation Store, the feedback is already very encouraging: “it has a rating of 4.03 out of 5 on the PlayStation Store, based on more than 12,000 user reviews”. A more than honorable start for a game released only a few weeks earlier, and which manages to seduce despite its often criticized free-to-play model.

Talos-II, a sci-fi world to explore for more than 50 hours

In Endfieldthe player wakes up with amnesia on Talos-IIa moon colonized by mega-corporations. As Administrator ofEndfield Industrieshe will have to investigate the mysteries of this colony, between exploration, construction of bases, and tactical confrontations.

The visual universe mixes industrial aesthetics and extraterrestrial landscapes. The story, although inspired by Arknights (the original tower defense game of 2019), can be discovered independently. In terms of content, we are far from a simple demo: count 50 hours of gameplay for main contentAnd up to 200 hours for the most dedicated.

Free, but not without compensation

As always with free-to-play games, some players will need to be patient. “As with any free-to-play game, be prepared to spend some time farming, especially if you don’t plan on spending money via microtransactions.”

Still, the overall quality of the game, its solid mechanics and its controlled atmosphere make it an excellent surprise for those looking to enrich their PS5 game library without spending a cent.

A deserved success for fans of sci-fi RPGs

With its hybrid mechanics, intriguing narrative and generous content, Arknights: Endfield ticks a lot more boxes than most free games at the moment. Add to that PS5 Pro optimization from day 1, and you have a console exclusive worth checking out.
