DJ Rotoma on the decks
The franchise’s music was heavily featured during this Pokémon Presents, and Pokémon Pokopia was treated to its melodic moment with the reveal of a new form of Rotom, which merged with a stereo to become DJ Rotom. His role will be to stream different music via CDseach representing a cult theme from the series, such as that of Pallet Town or the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Academy.
“Rongrigou cook”, aka Rongragoûtis also a new form which will make its first appearance in Pokopia. As her scrap metal chef’s hat and utensils indicate, she will teach us how to concoct different dishes. These will not only serve to be offered to Pokémon in the game, but also to strengthen the abilities of your Ditto avatar. We had a good example with the Foliage ability which allows you to bring out a large pile of bushes in one go, compared to usually just one.
Hide and seek in multiplayer
The title also showed several multiplayer sequences. If the construction possibilities continue to impress, the game also highlights an important social dimension thanks to a system allowing you to visit the islands of other players, with up to four people simultaneously on the same island. In particular, it will be possible to play hide and seek thanks to Metamorph’s ability to take on the appearance of a decorative object in order to camouflage himself.
We also see the strength of cooperation between players, which will allow gigantic constructions to be carried out. Like Minecraft, we can expect a lot of creators to create breathtaking reproductions of well-known places.
New biomes and Pokémon revealed
The end of the presentation was not stingy with new images, which made it possible to reveal numerous settings which give an overview of the variety of biomes present in the game. We can notably see caves as well as a mine filled with lava flows. Finally, new Pokémon have been made official, including Raikoubut also new transformations for Metamorph who can take the appearance of a Gravalanch and break everything in its path or even a Magneti whose capabilities are still unknown.
There is no doubt that lovers of cozy games and Pokémon fans will want to get their hands on the title even more after this generous preview of new features.
