Pokémon Legends: ZA players don’t have much time left. A particularly important Mystery Gift will disappear on February 28, 2026, in approximately 48 hours. A deadline that almost coincides with the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
Since its launch, Pokémon Legends: ZA has regularly offered free downloads through its Mystery Gift feature. Some remain available over time, others are limited in time. This time it’s particularly notable content.
Diancite and an exclusive mission soon to be unavailable
The affected download includes Diancite, the Mega Gem needed to obtain Mega Diancite in Pokémon Legends: ZA. At the same time, the secondary mission entitled “Shine like a precious stone” will also disappear on the same date. This quest is currently the only way to obtain Diancie in the game.
Without this mission and without the corresponding Mega Gem, it will be impossible to access Mega Diancie once the period has expired. To unlock this side mission, you must have completed the main story. Players who have not yet progressed this far will need to speed up if they want to recover the Mythical Pokémon.
An expiration linked to Pokémon’s 30th anniversary
The date of February 28, 2026 is not insignificant. It comes just after Pokémon’s official 30th anniversary. On February 27, a new Pokémon Presents presentation is scheduled to air. Historically, these events are an opportunity to unveil new Mystery Gifts. It is therefore possible that new free content will be announced for Pokémon Legends: ZA. However, there is no guarantee that Diancie or Diancite will make a return afterwards. As an event Pokémon, Diancie may not be redistributed for a long time.
How to collect the Mystery Gift before the deadline
Good news: no code is needed to get this download. Simply connect to the Internet from the game’s Mystery Gift menu to receive the Diancite and activate the corresponding secondary mission. This simplicity makes the offer accessible to all players with an active connection. After February 28, these items should be permanently removed. Their return would then depend on a future event or a new distribution, with no guarantee of timing.
