The “Pokémon” franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary with special promotions and 1025 anniversary logos. In addition, the tenth generation for the Nintendo Switch 2 was announced with “Pokémon Wind & Wave”. We summarize.
Round anniversary
The official celebrations for the 30th anniversary of “Pokémon” began on February 27, 2026. As part of this special anniversary year, fans can look forward to numerous promotions, events and of course announcements.
To kick off the milestone anniversary, a special video was released that presents several animated versions of the “30th Anniversary” logo with different “Pokémon” motifs. There are a total of 1025 variants – one for each existing Pokémon.
But it probably won’t stay at this number for too long, because during a live stream, the tenth “Pokémon” generation was confirmed with “Pokémon Wind & Wave”, an open-world game for the Nintendo Switch 2 planned for 2027. A first trailer can be seen below.
Although there are currently no new anime announcements about the “Pokémon” franchise, the DVDs and Blu-rays with the series and films that have already been released will be sold on Amazon at special prices until March 7, 2026.
