A new mode: Haunted Masquerade
The Haunted Masquerade is the new special Halloween mode which will make you wear masks (we stay in the theme after the recent collaboration with Persona 5). Here, each player dons a mystical mask representing an Overwatch hero, which offers unique bonuses that can reverse the outcome of the fight. If the mask is linked to your character (like Reinhardt and Brigitte raising their shield together), you unlock an iconic story bonus. Additionally, haunted surprises have been scattered throughout the cards for the more curious.
Blizzard’s game also recycles its classic modes with the return of:
- The Revenge of Dr. Schakalstein: with its hordes of omnic zombies and its monstrous bosses. Cooperate (or go solo) to defend the cursed castle!
- The Furious Bride: a cinematic co-op mode with Sojourn, Queen of the Junkers, Kiriko and Ashe in the heart of Adlersbrunn. Face Moira the Banshee or Winston the Gargoyle in a story-driven adventure full of twists and thrills.
Three new characters arrive in Stadium mode : Torbjörn, Danger and Sojourn. In addition, a new Control map will be there with the Busan Sanctuary, bathed in a mysterious mist and the sound of funeral bells.
Other major improvements were also announced:
- An overhaul of the armory with optimized filters, sub-tabs and search tools.
- An enriched combat interface: you now see the damage and healing inflicted in real time with customizable figures on the screen.
- A detailed report of your items and powers, integrated directly into Stadium mode.
Gadgets and Horrific Battle Pass
One of the big new features of season 19 are gadgets, activatable objects that can disrupt part of Stadium mode. You must choose one per match and use it at the right time to change the course of the fight. We therefore have:
- Heart of a Colossus: Cross enemy lines like an invincible specter.
- Kitsune Lucky Charm: Purify your team of all curses.
- Jet skates: speed like the wind and escape death.
Available in ordinary, rare or epic quality, gadgets cost resources but can make all the difference.
Of course, a new battle pass will appear with a shower of cosmetics including :
- Vital divine druid (mythical model): guardian of nature, radiating bioluminescent energy.
- Kiriko’s Rest of the Souls (mythical weapon): ghostly kunais ignited with a mystical aura.
- Legendary skins: Cassidy Oni, Wuyang monstriton, Moira vampire, Sombra ninja, Reinhardt the One-eyed pirate…
- Epic skins: Cursed Wood Echo, Cursed Bear Zenyatta, Cursed Candle Torbjörn…
- 80 mythical prisms, chests, emotes, credits…
From this season, the legendary models will be unlocked in their full version from the first level. Then, each rank adds new customization options: colors, visual effects, accessories…
When will Overwatch 2 Season 19 be available?
Overwatch 2 Season 19 will start on October 14 (while the event will end on November 3, 2025) on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Switch.
