Nintendo has preferred the theatrical release to the live-action adaptation of “The Legend of Zelda” video game series. Instead of May 7, 2027, the film is now scheduled to open worldwide on April 30, 2027. We summarize.
Second postponement
In a statement on social media, “Zelda” creator Shigeru Miyamoto said that the team is working hard to complete the film as quickly as possible. The theatrical release had originally been postponed from March to May 2027. Now the publication has surprisingly moved forward by a week.
The live-action film is being created as a joint project between Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The director is Wes Ball, who previously directed the “Maze Runner” films, among others. The script comes from Derek Connolly, who was previously responsible for productions such as “Jurassic World” and “Kong: Skull Island”.
The film stars Bo Bragason (“Renegade Nell” and “The Jetty”) as Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”) as Link. You can find two pictures of the actors below these lines.
