Without making any noise, Nintendo continues to improve the backward compatibility of the Switch 2. An update released at the end of September 2025, officially dedicated to “stability”, actually unlocked full compatibility with five additional Switch 1 games. Among them, Warframethe cooperative MMO from Digital Extremes, in high demand among nomadic players.
According to the NintendoEverything team, “the new firmware update made five Switch 1 games fully compatible with the Switch 2.” Thanks to this advancement, players can once again enjoy these titles in good conditions, without major bugs or performance limitations.
The 5 new Switch 2 compatible games
Here are the five titles now fully functional on Nintendo’s latest console:
- Warframe
- Deemo Reborn
- Library of Ruina
- Powerful Pro Baseball 2024–2025
- Ultra Age

This patch is good news for fans of multiplayer shooters, but also for fans of narrative RPGs like Library of Ruina or music games like Deemo.
Partial compatibility: games still awaiting fixes
Nintendo also released a inventory concerning several games that are still partially compatible. This is not a list of strict incompatibilities, but of titles that suffer from annoying bugs or technical limitations:
- Jelly Troops : progress blocked, game currently unplayable
- Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning : persistent graphical bugs, but progress repaired
- Mugen Souls : some objects are not displayed correctly
- Subway Simulator 2025: City Train : animations missing in certain areas
- Transistor : risk of crashing if you remove the console from the dock in the middle of a game
Nintendo assures that “the team appears to be working on these issues and hopes to resolve them relatively soon.” Note that Kingdoms of Amalur has already received a major fix, proof that fixes are being deployed quickly.
