New Battlefield 6 update fixes three major bugs, players finally relieved

Barely a week after its last update, Battlefield 6 is already receiving a new patch. This surprise patch, numbered 1.1.3.1, aims to correct bugs that have appeared since the winter event launched on December 5. Currently only available on Steam, this update comes in response to complaints from many players, particularly those on PC, who are facing a very specific technical issue.

Patch 1.1.3.0 introduced a very annoying bug on PC

On December 5, Electronic Arts rolled out an update called 1.1.3.0 for Battlefield 6. It included a limited-time map, special events for several modes (Domination, Conquest, Gauntlet), and new Battle Pass rewards to celebrate the “Winter Offensive” event.

But quickly after deployment, feedback multiplied on Reddit, particularly on the r/battlefield6 subreddit. A specific bug made sessions unplayable for certain PC players: micro-stutters randomly disrupting the display.

For the uninitiated, these are mini image freezes, which give the impression that the game freezes briefly, even at 60 frames per second. A phenomenon which generally affects high frame rates, but which, this time, affected all configurations.

A quick reaction from developers to deploy a fix

Faced with the scale of the reports, the Battlefield team acted quickly. The official Twitter account @BattlefieldComm announced the immediate deployment of a new patch. “Hotfix 1.1.3.1 is now available and fixes three specific bugs.”

In addition to micro-stutters, two other issues are resolved: “shooting range inconsistencies” and a bug affecting the main menu.

Three major fixes in this 1.1.3.1 update

Here are the three specific points corrected in this new update:

  • Removing micro-stutters on PC
  • Resolving inconsistencies on the shooting range
  • Main menu bug fixed

According to the developers, these fixes have been tested and validated on the Steam side. It is therefore a targeted hotfix, without adding content or modifying game mechanics.

The patch is coming soon to consoles: PS5 and Xbox affected

For now, update 1.1.3.1 is only available on the PC version via Steam. But as the official message specifies, “the team is working to have these fixes deployed on December 15 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the EA application.”

Console players will therefore have to wait a few more days. This discrepancy is often explained by specific validations with the PlayStation and Xbox platforms. In the meantime, Steam users can already enjoy smoother gameplay, without stutters, and without interface bugs.
