Russian dolls made in Koei Tecmo
The Automaton site looked at this reorganization of Koei Tecmo to raise the major point of this decision, namely the transfer of a team from Team Ninja to Gust.
At first glance, one might wonder why it is necessary to cut Team Ninja from one of its teams, as the studio is enjoying success with Nioh 3 and his latest productions. This is because in reality, Team Ninja is structured into two main divisions. The first, Division 1, is the one led by Yasunori Sakuda and which takes care of Dead or Alive Xtreme. The second, Division 2, is the one that best represents Team Ninja today, with productions like the last NiohOr Ninja Gaiden 4.
It’s good Division 1 which is transferred to Gust. A choice which appears to be logical given that the license Dead or Alive Xtreme is slowing down (well, especially in the West where it is non-existent), but also because this division has helped the development ofResleriana Workshop: Forgotten Alchemy and the Liberator of Polar Nightone of the recent episodes of Gust’s flagship saga.
Team Ninja will however experience other changes, since the company (i.e. what remains, namely Division 2) will now be divided into two againwithout knowing which division will take what. We simply know that Kohei Shibata, project manager on numerous Team Ninja games (including Dead or Alive) and producer of Nioh 3will be at the head of the new Division 1 (not the one who joined Gust, if you follow).
