GTA 6 in danger: a new free and stunning open world could dethrone it

Rockstar has not yet launched GTA 6 and an unexpected challenger is already trying to invite itself into the game. It’s called Paradise, it’s developed by Ultra Games HK, and it promises a new kind of open world. Its main asset? Extreme realism combined with NPCs boosted with generative artificial intelligence.

The game is expected soon on Steam, with registration possible to participate in the testing phases. And for fans of life simulation, cooperative action and online customization, Paradise has all the makings of a project to follow.

Paradise, an open world with free access

Unlike GTA 6 which will be a premium game on consoles, Paradise adopts a free model on PC. Presented as an immersive life simulation, it allows you to create an avatar, interact with other players, complete missions or simply live in an ultra-detailed digital island.

The developers announce a vast and varied environment: “In PARADISE, we have recreated an entire island nation with all the trappings of the real world, ranging from cityscapes with skyscrapers and bustling urban areas to serene oceans, beaches and lush rainforests.”

Generative AI: NPCs larger than life

The other key promise of the game lies in its non-playable characters. Paradise uses generative artificial intelligence to bring each NPC to life. Result: they speak, feel, react and live their own routine.

As Ultra Games HK explains: “They have real voices, real emotions and react to your actions, which makes them behave like real living people. Each NPC has their own story, job and daily routine.”

A new concept on this scale, which could transform the player experience. However, it also risks dividing those who are concerned about the uses of AI in video games.

Activities close to GTA, but with more freedom

Street racing, bank robberies, property purchases, luxury clothing: Paradise ticks many of the boxes common with GTA. Except that here, everything is designed in cooperation, with a strong social role-playing dimension.

We can live, work, earn money, and evolve freely in a world that never stops. All without constraints of scenario or imposed objective. It is this freedom that Paradise highlights to seduce players between two GTA Online updates.

Registration, exit and what to expect

Paradise does not yet have an official release date. Its Steam page simply says “Coming Soon.” However, it is possible to register for a test phase in one click from the platform.

No confirmation on possible console availability. The game is currently aimed at a PC audience curious to discover a free and modern alternative to classic open worlds. An outsider to watch… especially as GTA 6 approaches.
