GTA 6: end of rumors, Take-Two formalizes the news we were all waiting for

Tension rose a notch among GTA fans. While rumors relayed by PPE.pl spoke of a possible postponement of the physical edition of GTA 6, an internal source, Graczdari, claimed to want to avoid any leaks linked to the story or gameplay. But Take-Two has just made a clear decision.

It was during an exchange with Variety that the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnickended the suspense by simply stating: “This is not planned.” In other words, the physical edition should be available upon the official release of the game, announced for November 19, 2026.

A clear answer to weeks of speculation

This denial comes after several weeks of speculation fueled by European sources citing logistical decisions. Graczdari, identified as a major player in the distribution of video games in Europe, had suggested that the boxed version could arrive delayed. Supposed objective: to limit the risks of leaks before launch.

But Zelnick wanted to reassure. During Take-Two’s earnings conference call, he clarified: “Consumer anticipation for GTA 6 is indeed enormous and judgment must be exercised in how to market such a property.”

A launch planned for November and “surprising” marketing

The GTA 6 release date remains set for November 19, and the marketing plan is accelerating. Rockstar Games is expected to reveal more content this summer. On this subject, Zelnick added: “Rest assured, I think you will be very surprised by the creativity of Rockstar and what it has in store for consumers in the months to come.” This is a rare communication strategy for Take-Two, accustomed to leaving official announcements to its labels. Zelnick himself admits: “We are very excited.”

A context reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption 2

This isn’t the first time Rockstar has opted for a tight schedule. In 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 had also experienced several postponements before being released in October, with a physical edition eagerly awaited by collectors. This time, despite a second postponement to November 2025, GTA 6 seems to remain on schedule. Fans can therefore breathe: the most anticipated game of the decade will be available in a boxed edition from its launch.
