Free anime channel “AKIBA Anime” starts in summer 2026


The publisher peppermint anime announced today that they will be launching a FAST channel called “AKIBA Anime” in cooperation with Mainstream Media in the near future. Here is an overview of the most important information.

A FAST channel (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) is a free, ad-financed streaming offer that is distributed in the form of a linear television channel.

“AKIBA Anime” will be available on various streaming platforms and smart TV services from summer 2026 and is aimed at viewers aged 16 and over. “Demon Slayer”, “Sword Art Online”, “Haikyu!!”, “Steins;Gate”, “Fire Force” and “Assassination Classroom” were confirmed as the first series highlights.

The titles run in curated, thematically coordinated program sections that are renewed at regular intervals. The aim is to keep the offering varied and make room for tried-and-tested classics as well as popular fan favorites.

Mainstream Media is a German media company that operates several specialized TV channels and focuses on content for clearly defined target groups. In recent years, the company has increasingly expanded its offering to include free streaming offers and FAST channels.

peppermint anime is a Munich-based anime publisher that licenses series and films and publishes them across various channels such as home entertainment, streaming, TV and cinema. The company already operates several FAST channels in cooperation with Pluto TV.
