Fortnite Chapter 7 shakes up everything: new map, new weapons, cult collaborations, what’s changing

Golden Coast is the name of this brand new island where everything now starts with surfing, without Battle Bus. The map is openly inspired by American culture with its references to Las Vegas, Area 51 or even Hollywood, through Sus Studios or the cinema city with cardboard sets. This radical change contrasts with previous seasons and places the atmosphere under the sign of entertainment.

Thirteen new localities enrich this map with multiple biomes, including: Boulevard of Glory, Confidential Canyon, Wonkeeland, Hunchbacked Bay and Harmonious Heights. Exploration is now done on foot, by car or via hot air balloons scattered throughout the map.

A nostalgic Battle Pass full of cinematic references

Pop culture is in the spotlight in this season’s Battle Pass. Two flagship collaborations attract attention: Marty McFly from Back to the Future and the Bride from Kill Bill. New characters like Miles Cross and a revisited version of Dark Voyager complete this gallery.

Certain outfits, like those of Cat Holloway or Carter Wu, require completing specific challenges in Blitz and Reload modes. A possible collaboration with Harry Potter is already fueling fan rumors.

Completely reinvented gameplay mechanics

Epic Games strikes hard by changing the KO rules No more waiting passively: players on the ground can now sprint on all fours, roll to dodge shots, use zip lines or climb into the passenger seat of a car.

Another upheaval: recovery vans become drivable. We can move them, rescue a fallen ally and take them to safety to revive them. Self-reanimation also makes its way into loot items.

For beginners, the “Simple Build” mode drastically simplifies construction: one click, and the building is placed. Enough to make the game even more accessible.

Gold rebalancing and new weapons to watch closely

Gold bars are no longer carried over from one game to another. This permanent reset aims to restore fairness between players. You now have to spend everything before the end of the match, whether via upgrades, distributors or donations to your teammates.

On the arsenal side, the season introduces new weapons: Double striking shotgun, Electric arc cannon or even Blade of the renounced oath. Finally, a boss mechanic transforms your gameplay: defeat Human Bill, Hush or Beach Brutus to take their appearance and benefit from massive bonuses… but on condition of being visible to everyone.
