The year 2025 is coming to an end and with it the 30th anniversary of “Neon Genesis Evangelion” – but at the end there is a special merchandise announcement. We summarize below.
Limited wristwatch
From now on, “Neon Genesis Evangelion” fans all over the world can pre-order a limited “Shinkansen 500 TYPE EVA-02” wristwatch from the Japanese watch manufacturer Seiko, the number of which is limited to just 5,000 pieces.
The stainless steel case and the curved Hardlex glass form the basis of the watch, while the color design of the dial is based on Asuka Langley’s EVA Unit-02. In addition, the pointers and other design elements are based on the displays and instruments of a Shinkansen train driver’s cab.
The release of the collector’s item is scheduled for April 2026 and the purchase price is 550 US dollars (around 430 euros), although buyers from Germany still have to reckon with shipping and import costs. You can find the first pictures below.
In this country, the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” series and films are available on Netflix, while Prime Video has the four-part “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series in its program. A disc release was carried out by the publisher LEONINE Anime.
