In a few weeks, AniMoon Publishing will begin the disc release of the new anime adaptation of »Spice and Wolf«. In keeping with this, the design of the collection slipcase and the volumes were revealed. We summarize.
Release from May 2026
According to current plans, the first Blu-ray volume will go on sale as a limited edition on May 15, 2026. This includes the first six episodes in German and Japanese as well as a collector’s slipcase. The second volume is expected to follow on July 17, 2026. The two further volumes will appear later this year.
Studio Passione was responsible for producing the 25-episode first season, with Hijiri Sanpei (“Maoyu: Archenemy & Hero”) directing and Takeo Takahashi (“Citrus”) serving as chief director.
Crunchyroll has all previous episodes that ran in simulcast between April and September 2024 in the German language version and in the original sound with subtitles. A second season is already in the works, but does not yet have a start date. The first anime from 2008 was published by Nipponart.

At the harvest festival, wandering trader Kraft Lawrence meets Holo, a mysterious woman with wolf features who was once worshiped as a harvest goddess.
Since the village has lost faith in her, she feels unnecessary and asks Lawrence to accompany her on a journey to her northern homeland.
