On the X account of the anime adaptation of “My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked” (Japanese: “Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi”) it was announced today that the series will be broadcast in Japan from July 8, 2026. You can find a trailer below.

»My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked« was created under the direction of Keisuke Inoue (“My Next Life as a Villainess”) at Studio NEWON. Nanami Hoshino is writing the script, while Mutsumi Sasaki is contributing character design.
The opening song entitled “Amayadori no Shokei”, which can be heard in the trailer, is by Lia (opening song of “Charlotte”) and the ending song “Claire” is sung by the idol group AVAM (opening of “Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!”).
The original manga series of the same name by Otsuji has been published in Ichijinsha’s “Comic Pool” magazine in Japan since November 2020. The fantasy work is available with an English translation from the publisher Seven Seas Entertainment.
