The streaming service Crunchyroll announced today that it has secured the license for the anime adaptation of “Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?” (Japanese: “Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!?”). We summarize.

The anime adaptation of “Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?” will be broadcast on Japanese television from April 8, 2026 and will be shown in the simulcast in the original dub with German subtitles on Crunchyroll in this country.
The studio TMS Entertainment is responsible for the production of the RomCom series, with Arata Mita (“High Card”) directing. Kazuhiko Inukai (“Bakugan: Geogan Rising”) is writing the script.
The opening song “Hide and Seek” comes from the girl band I-dle, while the ending song “Isho Nakako” is contributed by sunsoogirl.
The original manga series of the same name by Norishiro-chan has been published in the “Comic Zenon” magazine since August 2021 with drawings by Sakana Uozumi. The work is available in Germany under the title “Are there no Gyaru who are nice to otaku?!” from Panini Manga with a German translation.
