Battlefield 6: after a record launch, EA offers a free download to players

It’s the big FPS release of the year, and it doesn’t intend to go unnoticed. Available for a week, Battlefield 6 has already exploded all the counters for Electronic Artswith more than 700,000 simultaneous players on the day of its launch, thus breaking the previous record ofApex Legends on Steam. A great start for this highly anticipated new episode of the saga.

But what’s new today is the arrival of an exclusive free download for players PlayStation 5. This is a Battlefield 6 live wallpaper which all users can apply now to the home screen of their console, at no additional cost. An original way to extend the gaming experience even when the controller is put down.

Bonus content to celebrate a historic launch

The visual features a soldier on a red background, accompanied by dynamic animations where plane silhouettes cross the background. Fans of the Battlefield universe will appreciate the stylized military atmosphere, even if those who are more sensitive to light will undoubtedly prefer to lower the brightness level slightly.

This content is in addition to another free wallpaper, this time in the colors of NBA 2K26also available on PS5 via the customization screen. And although these backgrounds are not technically “themes” in their own right (a highly anticipated feature on PS5), they at least allow the interface to be personalized a little more, a recurring request from players since the launch of the console.

On the gaming side, the feedback is very positive. The journalist behind this announcement describes it as “this year’s killer FPS”, praising in particular “well-designed maps and solid team play features make for interesting online games”. He adds: “It’s hard-hitting, direct and captivating. Everything feels perfectly tailored to what gamers have wanted since the series’ golden era.”

Battlefield, modernized version but faithful to its DNA

Electronic Arts is clearly positioning Battlefield 6 as a “return to form” for the franchise. The experience draws its inspiration from the most emblematic episodes of the saga, notably Battlefield 3 And Battlefield 4putting aside more recent experiments.

Players will therefore find a modern military atmosphere, intense combat, a single-player campaign, classic multiplayer modes, a “Portal” mode to create personalized content, and soon, a Battle Royale scheduled for a later date.

For fans of FPS and lovers of visual bonuses, this free wallpaper comes at the right time. And if it doesn’t change anything in the game mechanics, it at least allows you to immerse yourself a little more in the explosive universe of Battlefield 6, as soon as you turn on the console.
