Anime offensive: AlphaPolis takes over another studio

Japanese publisher AlphaPolis recently announced that it has acquired all shares of 3DCG studio NIA Animation and made it a wholly owned subsidiary. We summarize below.

Another studio taken over

With the acquisition, AlphaPolis wants to advance its own anime ambitions and accelerate the adaptation of its IPs in the future. In this context, the anime studio WHITE FOX (“Re:ZERO”) was acquired last year.

Now follows the still young studio NIA Animation, which was only founded in July 2021 and focuses on planning 3DCG animations. The company has already incorporated this expertise into the two seasons of “The 100 Girlfriends” and into the film “The Quintessential Quintuplets”. The studio is also currently working on the CG animation of the “Fist of the North Star” remake.

AlphaPolis’ portfolio includes a large number of light novel series, quite a few of which have already received an anime adaptation, including titles such as “GATE”, “TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy”, “May I Ask for One Final Thing?”, “Re:Monster” and “Tsuyokute New Saga”. Future sequels to this anime should now go into production more quickly with the help of the two own anime studios.
