»Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings« is released on DVD and Blu-ray

It was recently announced through a product listing on the online retailer Amazon that Crunchyroll will be releasing the anime adaptation of “Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian” on DVD and Blu-ray. We summarize.

Disc release from February 2026

The first volume of »Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian« is expected to be released as a limited edition on February 6, 2026. In addition to the first six episodes with German and Japanese language versions, this includes, among other things, a collector’s slipcase as an extra. The date of the second volume is still pending.

The Doga Kobo studio was responsible for the production of the twelve-part romantic comedy series, with Ryouta Itou (“Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie”) directing and writing the script. Yuuhei Murota created the character design.

The Japanese premiere took place from July to September 2024. Crunchyroll offers all episodes with German and Japanese dubbing on demand. A second season is scheduled to start on Japanese television in 2026.

Alya, a pretty half-Russian woman with silver hair, is at the top of her class, in the student council and seems aloof. She constantly reprimands her neighbor Kuze Masachika – seemingly sternly, but in reality she secretly whispers her feelings to him in Russian.

She thinks he doesn’t understand her – even though Kuze speaks Russian and just acts clueless.
