Available worldwide since December 3, 2025, the Nintendo Today! is now expanding its reach to new territories such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand. Already launched earlier in the year, it is making headlines again with an update that offers free content and a customizable interface around Nintendo’s most popular universes.
With this initiative, the Japanese giant is banking as much on nostalgia as on utility, by transforming its video game know-how into a daily digital assistant. And it’s free.
A personalized Nintendo calendar, on mobile
Nintendo Today! offers an animated daily calendar inspired by its flagship licenses. You will find illustrations and animations around Mario, Zelda or Animal Crossing, in a colorful and ergonomic interface. The goal: to help you organize your day while enjoying the unique aesthetic of Nintendo games.
The app allows you to synchronize your personal events with your smartphone calendar, in order to centralize your activities. It’s an original way to add a gaming touch to your meetings, birthdays or gaming sessions.
Widgets and exclusive content: fans are delighted
One of Nintendo Today’s most loved features! is the ability to personalize your phone’s home screen with exclusive widgets. Each widget takes on the visual universe of your favorite franchises: animated Mario icons, backgrounds inspired by Breath of the Wild, or nods to Tom Nook and his peaceful island.
The application also offers daily news on game releases, special events, or software updates for Nintendo consoles. A simple and fun way to stay connected to Nintendo news.
Free, but requires a Nintendo Account
The Nintendo Today app! is available for free on Android and iOS. However, to take full advantage of all its features, a Nintendo account is required. This includes access to events, advanced customization and syncing with your player profile.
As the official Nintendo website states: “We’ve launched Nintendo Today!, an app for smart devices that features a variety of Nintendo-related events, gaming news, and fun content like a daily calendar every day! »
A discreet but effective way to increase Nintendo’s presence on mobile, while strengthening the connection with its most loyal fans.
Nods to upcoming projects
This mobile strategy is part of a rich calendar for Nintendo. After the success of the Super Mario Bros. film. in 2023, the sequel Super Mario Galaxy is expected for April 3, 2026, while the live-action film The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for May 7, 2027.
The Nintendo universe has never been so omnipresent: consoles, films, series, and now… digital calendar.
