It is designed with “various special effects, sound design and AI technologies,” according to its creator. This specifies that it is indeed a trailer made by a fan, but that does not prevent Google’s algorithm from distributing it widely, as if it were official content.
Algorithmic promotion that sows confusion
What shocks players is that the video found itself massively pushed in YouTube recommendations and Google results, to the point of making thousands of viewers believe that it was the real trailer. In the comments, confusion is everywhere. “No way everyone was sent here by Google, lol,” one user wrote. Another added: “There’s no way Google is pranking us with a GTA 6 AI trailer before GTA 6 comes out.”
This video appears at a particularly sensitive moment: Rockstar recently postponed the release of the game from May 26 to November 19, 2026.
