Reiji Miyajima, creator of “Rent-A-Girlfriend,” is regularly at the center of controversy because of his apparent fixation on the character Chizuru Mizuhara – and a recent development is now taking this controversy to the extreme.

Even if at first glance the stalled developments of “Rent-A-Girlfriend” could of course have financial reasons, for example simply to delay the manga, quite a few fans now suspect a deeper motive.
According to them, Miyajima himself has feelings for his fictional protagonist Chizuru and therefore does not want to “give” her to Kazuya, the protagonist of the work. Even if this initially sounds exaggerated, the author’s previous posts and comments on social networks have repeatedly reinforced this impression.
The current developments in the manga can also be classified into this category, as Kazuya has recently acquired a new look – and it cannot be denied that this one looks very similar to Reiji Miyajima.
Unsurprisingly, this once again sparked heated discussions in the fan community. But it’s best to see for yourself: Below these lines you can compare Kazuya’s new design directly with the appearance of Reiji Miyajima.
The anime adaptation of “Rent-A-Girlfriend” currently consists of four seasons, which are available on Crunchyroll in German and Japanese. A sequel in the form of a fifth season will start later next year.
