New details about the upcoming TV special were announced today on the official X account of the anime adaptation of “Detective Conan”. We summarize.
Premiering in January 2026
The one-hour TV special entitled “Detective Conan Episode ZERO: Shinichi Kudo Aquarium Incident” (Japanese: “Meitantei Conan Episode ZERO: Kudou Shinichi Suizokukan Jihen”) will be broadcast for the first time on Japanese television on January 3, 2026. The running time without advertising is around 45 to 50 minutes.
As with the associated series, the studio TMS Entertainment is also responsible for producing this special episode. The action takes place immediately before Shinichi’s transformation into Conan and therefore before the first episode.
In addition, the TV special, which is being created as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the anime adaptation, will also show another case that is “connected to that fateful day.” Details are still pending.
“Detective Conan” has been running on Japanese television since 1996 and now has over 1,100 episodes. The German VoD and disc release is carried out by the publisher Crunchyroll. The 29th screen offshoot will start in Japan in spring 2026.
