Ubisoft has just rolled out a major new update for Assassin’s Creed Shadowsavailable today on PS5, PC And Xbox Series X/S. This patch 1.1.4 introduces two key features: Corrupted Castlesa new replayable rogue-like activity, and a Advanced Parkourfinally worthy of the ambition of feudal Japan.
Released in March 2025, the title is already one of the biggest successes of the saga. Ubisoft promised post-launch improvements, and this update clearly delivers.
Corrupted Castles: harder, richer, creepier bosses
Corrupted Castles is a new Animus-themed activity that lets you revisit castles in a whole new way. Starting at level 30 and completing three castles, up to five corrupted versions appear on the map each season.
These places are infested with anomalies, traps, and above all formidable enemies like the Corrupted Samurai Daisho. Once defeated, the latter will bring you a chest allowing you to unlock gears and gold.
Each incursion thus becomes a valuable source of loot… provided you survive. A great way for experienced players to extend the experience while improving their equipment.
Advanced parkour: finally total freedom of movement
Another highly anticipated new feature: the improvement of the movement system. We are adding a new option called “Advanced Parkour” which gives players greater freedom of expression. Once activated, this option removes all the barriers that limited your acrobatics: side and rear ejections, manual jumps, directional grabs, it’s all there.
By combining the new commands and small adjustments like the vertical grip on non-fixed objects or the automatic catch-up on a corniceUbisoft finally allows players to cross roofs, beams and alleys with a fluidity never seen since Unity. Stunt enthusiasts will be able to perform crazy sequences without fear of getting stuck on a poorly placed wall.
Other additions: new golden weapons, massive bug fixes
The update also introduces new golden weapons to unlock via specific challenges: naginata, arc, kusarigama or even kanabo. A good way to reward high level players.
On the technical side, Ubisoft has fixed dozens of visual, quest, localization and stability bugs. Among the most notable: end of crashes during certain missions, return of dialogue bubbles for allies in the lair, and optimization of floating textures.
At the same time, the weekly anomalies have been redesigned to offer more data fragments, and their interface has been simplified.
