Three weeks before its launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially reveals the content of its season 1. Activision has lifted the veil on a busy roadmap, between new multiplayer maps, zombie zones and the big return of a cult place for fans: Nuketown. And this new phase of the saga promises to be rich from November 14, the official release date.
The game, already highly anticipated despite a mixed beta, will be available on Xbox Game Pass upon its release, like Black Ops 6. A strategic choice which could boost the number of active players, even if it raises questions about physical sales.
18 multiplayer maps, zombies, and the return of Nuketown
From launch day, Black Ops 7 will offer 18 multiplayer maps. Among them, some new ones will be accompanied by two Zombies cards. But the real spotlight is expected a week later, with the arrival of Nuketown 2025, a revisited version of the iconic map that first appeared in Black Ops in 2010.
Activision also confirmed that six additional maps will arrive during season 1. Among them, the names of Meltdown and Yakei have already been revealed. Three new Zombies maps will also expand the universe, including two Survival maps designed for the most intense sessions.
A launch under pressure but full of promise
Despite an unpopular open beta, Black Ops 7 remains one of the most anticipated games of the end of the year. Its assertive multiplayer orientation, combined with an accessibility strategy via Game Pass, shows that the Call of Duty license still intends to dominate the genre.
The return of emblematic maps, the diversity of environments, as well as the promise of sustained content from the first season suggest a solid start. If the servers hold up, and if the promises are kept, Black Ops 7 could well succeed where its predecessors sometimes struggled to convince over time.
