The first burst of Xbox Game Pass games since the increase in the price of the Ultimate subscription has just been announced by Microsoft. Now set at $29.99 per monthcompared to 19.99 previously, this price applies from October for new subscribers, and will be generalized on November 4. According to Microsoft, this increase is justified by “the expanded catalog, new partner benefits and improved cloud gaming experience.”
But despite these promises, discontent is growing among subscribers. “Last week, Microsoft caused backlash with its decision to increase the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $19.99 per month to $29.99 per month.” According to an IGN survey of more than 42,000 readers, 53.9% don’t count not renew their subscription.

Games removed from Game Pass in October
From the October 15, 2025several iconic games will leave the service. Microsoft is offering up to 20% off to keep them:
- Cocoon
- Core Keeper
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed
These departures could disappoint fans of indies or cooperative games, but the rotation strategy remains the same.
