The streaming service Netflix released the first animated teaser for the anime remake of “One Piece” today – also with a German dub. You can watch the video along with a visual below.
Premiering in February 2027
The new series entitled “THE ONE PIECE” is directed by Masashi Koizuka (“Moonrise”) at Studio WIT. Hideaki Abe (episode director on “Jujutsu Kaisen”) acts as assistant director. In the Japanese original, Mayumi Tanaka again voices the character Monkey D. Luffy/Luffy.
The first season implements the first 50 chapters of the manga series in seven episodes, which have a total running time of around 300 minutes. The worldwide release is scheduled for February 2027 on Netflix.
The first anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s pirate story has been running on Japanese television since October 1999 and includes over 1,160 episodes. New episodes appear weekly in simulcast on ADN, Crunchyroll and Netflix.
