“One Piece” supports Japan’s national team at the 2026 World Cup

The Japanese national soccer team and the “One Piece” franchise have started a special collaboration to get in the mood for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We summarize.

“One Piece” supports Japan’s World Cup dream

In the video “To Our Highest Peak” the dreams of Monkey D. Luffy and the Japanese national soccer team are compared. While Luffy wants to become Pirate King, the team pursues the goal of their first world title.

A few days earlier, the “One Piece” makers had hinted at the collaboration and presented the national team with a specially designed blue straw hat based on the traditional jersey color. The corresponding illustration also adorned the cover of issue 26/2026 of “Weekly Shonen Jump”.

The collaboration is based on the common motto of being able to reach the highest peak with perseverance, team spirit and belief in big goals. In their message, those responsible emphasized that people who dream big are often laughed at – especially when it comes to becoming number one in the world.

That’s precisely why “One Piece” wants to support the dream of the Japanese national team and believe in the day when Japan reaches the football summit.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in June and July 2026 in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Japan qualified early for the tournament and is one of the strongest representatives of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
