The Japanese media group KADOKAWA announced today that the manga series “The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom” (Japanese: “Gekkakoku Kiiden”) will soon receive an anime adaptation as a TV series. You can find a teaser below.

»The Eccentric Doctor« was created under the direction of Kouichirou Kuroda (episode director on »Date A Live«) at Studio elle. Risa Mizuno (“Sorairo Utility”) is writing the script, while Akira Ono is doing the character design.
The main roles of the Japanese voice cast include Rina Hidaka (Milim Nava in “TenSura”) as Koyou and Takeo Ootsuka (Aquamarine Hoshino in “Oshi no Ko”) as Keiun. A start date is still pending.
The original manga series of the same name by Tohru Himuka has been published in “Asuka” magazine since January 2018. The work is available in German through altraverse under the title “Koyo: The Eccentric Doctor of the Moonflower Kingdom”.
