A first trailer for the series was released today on the official X account of the anime adaptation of “The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne” (Japanese: “Saikyou Degarashi Ouji no Anyaku Teii Arasoi”). You can find the video below.
Starting in July 2026
»The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne« is directed by Maaya Uchida (“I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History”) at Studio Maho Film. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (“Shangri-La Frontier”) is writing the script, while Kazuko Tadano (“Nobunagun”) is contributing the character design.
The main roles of the Japanese cast include Yuuma Uchida (Nanaka Kotegawa in “Grand Blue”) as Elna von Amsberg and Yuuma Uchida (Jun Yodaka in “Medalist”) as Arnold Lake’s Adora. The series is scheduled to start in July 2026.
The original light novel series of the same name written by Tanba has been published in Japan since September 2019 with illustrations by Yuunagi. A manga adaptation by Yukino Amagai debuted in Young Ace Up magazine in December 2019.
