New details about the release of the upcoming anime project were announced today on the official X account of “Sekiro: No Defeat”. We summarize.
Premiere in September 2026
The cinema version of “Sekiro: No Defeat” will run in Japanese cinemas for just three weeks from September 4, 2026. It is not yet known whether a series or a film series will follow.
The Qzil.la studio is responsible for the production, with Kenichi Kutsuna (“Back to You”) directing and Takuya Satou writing the script. Takahiro Kishida creates the character design. A global release will take place later this year on Crunchyroll.
The main roles include the voice actors Daisuke Namikawa (Slur in “Sakamoto Days”), known from the video game “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” as the wolf, Miyuki Satou (Yoru Nagatsuki in “Tsukiuta”) as Kuro and Kenjirou Tsuda (Kento Nanami in “Jujutsu Kaisen”) as Genichiro Ashina.
The title song is called “Blu” and comes from the album “The Best of ‘Playing the Orchestra 2014′” by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.
