»KPop Demon Hunters« reaches two historical milestones

The US animated film “KPop Demon Hunters,” produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, is still a huge success for Netflix and has now reached two significant milestones. We summarize.

Over 600 million views

Although Netflix only takes into account the viewing figures within the first 91 days after the release of a film or series for its official all-time ranking, it continues to provide weekly usage data, which in the case of “KPop Demon Hunters” was collected and evaluated by “What’s on Netflix”.

Since the film has remained in the global top 10 for 46 weeks without a break, it can be seen that it now has over 617 million views and more than a billion hours streamed.

“KPop Demon Hunters” was released worldwide on Netflix on June 20, 2025 and already reached 314.2 million views within the first 91 days. The film was the first Netflix title to break the 300 million view mark and has held the record as the platform’s most successful title ever since.

A sequel, once again directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, was confirmed in March 2026, but does not yet have a date.
