The streaming service Joyn is renaming its premium offer “Joyn+” (previously “Joyn PLUS+”), adjusting the prices and adding new functions to the package. We summarize all the details about the innovations.
New pricing and features
For new Joyn customers, the monthly price of the premium subscription will now increase from 6.99 euros to 8.99 euros. However, if you decide directly on an annual subscription, you will continue to pay 6.99 euros per month.
For existing customers, the current price remains unchanged for the time being. A later price adjustment is only possible with consent – if this is refused, there is the possibility of unilateral termination of the contract.
New for Joyn+ customers is, among other things, the function of playing current programs on live TV from the beginning. Users can also save up to ten pieces of content on mobile devices and watch them for up to 30 days even without an internet connection.
In contrast to competitors such as RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 continues to rely heavily on the free, advertising-financed offer at Joyn and plans to expand this to include new functions in the future. According to the company, this area has recently grown in the double-digit percentage range.
