Amazon Luna removes third-party stores, your games could disappear in June

Bad news for fans of cloud gaming: Amazon Luna will cut off the tap on third-party stores and individual purchases, with a very clear deadline for your existing games. Titles purchased via the platform or streamed from your libraries GOG, EA Or Ubisoft will no longer be playable via streaming after June 10, 2026.

Clearly, if you used Luna as the only way to launch these games without a gaming PC or console, access could simply disappear. And unlike Google Stadia At the time, Amazon provided no refunds for lost cloud access, putting additional pressure on affected players.

Amazon Luna: what will the end of third-party stores change on April 10, 2026?

From April 10, 2026, Amazon Luna “will no longer offer game stores, individual purchases or third-party subscriptions.” This is what Amazon explains in its official announcement, adding: “Your feedback has been clear: you want easy access to great games, more social experiences and a regular flow of new content. (…) It’s on the members Prime that we focus our future.”

Concretely, the mode Bring Your Own Library (BYOL)which allowed you to stream your PC games already purchased on GOG, Ubisoft or theEA appis stopped. In-app stores and subscriptions Ubisoft+ And Jackbox Games sold via Luna also disappear from the catalog. The service is refocused on two offers: Luna Standard included in Amazon Prime, and Luna Premium at $9.99 per month (around €9.50), with a larger library, but only in the form of a subscription.

Are your Amazon Luna games really going to disappear on June 10, 2026?

If you purchased games individually via the Luna store, you will still be able to launch them in the cloud until June 10, 2026. After this date, they will no longer be playable on Luna, with no financial compensation announced. Same penalty for titles accessible via BYOL or via subscription Ubisoft+ Or Jack box subscribed to Luna.

The important nuance: if these games are linked to your account GOG, Ubisoft Connect Or EAyou still have them on these platforms and will be able to play them locally, provided you have a machine capable of running them. GOG.com has already confirmed that ownership of games purchased from it remains intact, with only streaming via Luna ceasing on June 10, 2026.

Amazon will leave one last exit door: your backups will remain downloadable in Luna settings for 90 days after the cut, i.e. until September 8, 2026, with no guarantee that they will work elsewhere. For gamers who only had a streaming box in the living room, this date feels like a real endgame.

What to do before June 10, 2026 and what does this decision reveal for cloud gaming?

First reflex: check that your accounts GOG, Ubisoft And EA are well connected to Luna, in order to secure access to your games outside the cloud. Next, make a list of titles you can only play via streaming and decide which ones are worth a purchase on PC or console, or possibly a move to another service like GeForce Now Or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Also remember to recover all your saves before September 8, 2026. This kind of situation reminds us how fragile the “ownership” of a game in the cloud remains. In France, the association UFC-Que Choisirsupported by the campaign Stop Killing Gamesattack already Ubisoft in court after the closure of The Crewprecisely on this question of cut access to a game that is nevertheless paid for. Amazon Luna’s decision becomes one more example that will encourage many players to be wary of games that are impossible to actually download at home.
