Cyberpunk 2077 formalizes the sequel long awaited by players with an imminent release

Since its release in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of the most impactful science fiction universes in modern video games. The title developed by CD Projekt Red has continued to evolve over the years through updates, expansions and new projects linked to the franchise.

But the story of Night City isn’t limited to the main game. Several transmedia projects now allow this futuristic world to be explored in other forms, notably through official comics published by Dark Horse Comics.

A massive new edition arrives on March 17

Fans will soon be able to discover a new collection called Cyberpunk 2077 Library Edition Volume 2. This hardcover volume collects several comic series published in recent years and brings them together in one large volume. The collection will be available from March 17 at various retailers and in certain specialized bookstores. The price of this edition should be around 60 dollars. With over 300 pages of content, this edition aims to provide complete immersion into the dark and violent universe of Night City.

Three different stories set in Night City

The collection brings together three distinct mini-series that explore different facets of the futuristic city. The first story, Cyberpunk 2077 XOXO, tells of a conflict between rival gangs on the streets of Night City. This series was written by Bartosz Sztybor and illustrated by Jakub Rebelka. The second story, Cyberpunk 2077 Kickdown, follows the character of Mint, a talented pilot linked to the world of car theft. The story explores the underground races and rivalries that develop in the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods. The third miniseries included in this collection is Cyberpunk 2077 Psycho Squad. The plot features a special unit responsible for managing individuals who have become cyberpsychotic, a frequent threat in the Cyberpunk universe.

An enriched edition with new content

Beyond the main stories, this library edition also includes several additional content. Readers will be able to discover a gallery of original covers as well as preparatory sketches made by the artists who worked on these series. These elements provide a better understanding of the creative process behind these stories and offer an overview of the artistic work that accompanies the Cyberpunk universe.

A way to wait before the rest of the game

This new collection arrives while CD Projekt Red is already working on several major projects. The studio is notably preparing the official sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, currently known under the code name Project Orion. Development of the next game is expected to take several more years before its release. While we await further announcements regarding this project, these comics offer fans an opportunity to return to Night City and explore new stories in this futuristic universe.
